Dr. Short earned her PhD in clinical psychology at Florida State University in 2019, where she gained extensive training in the treatment of anxiety disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She completed her clinical internship at the Charleston Consortium (Medical University of South Carolina and Ralph H. Johnson Veteran Affairs Medical Center), where she received further training in behavioral sleep medicine, as well as anxiety and PTSD treatment. My areas of specialty include insomnia and other sleep disorders, anxiety disorders, and depression, often with chronic pain or stress-related issues. I trained with Donn Posner, Ph.D., at Brown University's School of Medicine in an internship and subsequently in my post-doctoral training as well. I've taught psychology full time in a liberal arts setting for much of the last two decades, but recently expanded my private practice, when I left teaching last year. I'm trained in behavioral and in Cognitive-behavioral therapy for panic, phobias, GAD, OCD, and stress-related disorders, as well as mood disorders.
